We want you to know and understand CWW as much as possible. This page is all about us and what we have been doing over the last year.
What we did in 2006-07
It has been another busy year for CWW which is just the way we like it! Read our latest Annual Report for a full update.
Some of our key acheivements over the 06/07 year have been:
Delivery of 75 professional volunteer placements. This equals approx 33,750 hours of consultancy support FREE to partners overseasSupporting 45 different partners across 8 countriesDelivering employer partnerships with London based innovation company ?What If!Building and delivering a programme for the Universtiy of Denver placing 25 volunteers across 3 countries - all WITHIN 9 monthsSecuring funding from the Scottish Executive for 45 people to undertake assignments with partners working on livelihood recovery on the south west coast of Sri Lanka. We have made a great start to this programme and continue to build on the success the first volunteers had throughout 2007 and into 2008. Contact us for details or go to our Funded Sri Lanka Programme page.
What we will do over the next year
Our Annual Report highlights the change in Strategic Direction that CWW has taken over the last year. To deliver results for our partners overseas and build local skills and institutional capacity (which we believe is the most sustainable and effective way to engage in international development) we have looked at who else we should be working with to:
a) find the quality of volunteer that can successfully deliver support to our partners overseas and
b)make sure that our work is supporting existing efforts of sector leading organisations within our development priorities - Health, Livelihoods,Environment and Human Rights.
We have recently revised our Strategic Plan to 2011 which details how we plan to do this. We are interested in your feedback! Funders and potential supporters, don't hesitate to contact us and ask for a copy!
