The Project:
Purpose of Placement

To develop and train staff in an appraisal system, to help the staff and the organisation to meet and exceed both personal and organisational goals.

Background

Following the development of a new vision and mission for RRI in 2007, through staff workshops and senior management meetings, RRI would like to continue to work on building a structured focus for the organisation over the next 5 years. This will be done through developing organisational objectives, and personal objectives for each member of staff to help achieve our goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with senior management and relevant staff to refine the organisational objectives
  • Make the objectives relevant to staff so they have an understanding of how their actions contribute towards the development of the organisation as a whole
  • Communicate objectives to staff and gain their approval and buy-in
  • Recommend a suitable appraisal system
  • Train managers in how to run a successful appraisal
  • Train staff being appraised on how to make the most out of the system
  • Oversee the completion of the first round of appraisals
  • Submit overall report documenting current HR systems with strategy for developing capacity of HR systems in the future.


You:

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in developing and running staff training
  • Experience in developing appraisal systems
  • Experience in facilitating organisations to focus on their objectives
  • Experience in communicating organisational vision to staff in a variety of creative ways

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Professional, flexible, resourceful, adaptable, creative and culturally sensitive.
