The Project:
Purpose of Placement
Promoting sustainable livelihoods for maximum number of disabled children in the district.
Setting up a business unit and building capacities of disabled people to manage
Mission
To strive for increased respect for and realisation of child rights in Sri Lanka, for children's survival,
development, protection and participation; for the purpose of improved recognition of children's rights as citizens with regard to more equitable access to quality education services and greater protection from violence and abuse.
Duties and Responsibilities
Co-ordinate and assist to implement the ‘district disability strategy plan’ (DDSP) strategic objective on livelihoods
Support to Develop data base of disabled people of employable age.
Sensitising employers and colleagues of disabled persons placed in jobs
Setting up business unit to be run by disabled persons and parents of disabled children
Explore the possibility of setting income generation program for the disabled and parents of children with disabilities.
Capacity building of entrepreneurs to run business
Process documentation of crucial learning/experiences in the entire livelihoods programme
Review strategic objective on livelihoods along with the organisation and the parents of disabled children association on a monthly basis and make changes where required
Participate and provide inputs in team meetings

You:
Skills and Experience Required
- At least five years of work experience as a business manager
- Proven experience in a business/ strategic development role
- Experience of researching, developing, writing (or contributing to) and executing business and strategic plans
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Have experience in managing people and training / coaching
- Have the ability to manage a significant workload independently.
- Experience in building organizational capabilities through need analysis, organisational development interventions, training and facilitation, and program evaluation
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
- Experience of giving presentations and facilitating meetings
- Experience conducting market and stakeholder research
- Experience setting and devising objectives, strategies and tasks
- Be able to adapt to local market conditions and culture
- Strong analytical skills
- Be computer literate with a sound knowledge of MS Office packages,
- Confident, motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Professional, resourceful, adaptable, creative and culturally sensitive
