The Project:
Purpose of Placement
To provide support to the organization by undertaking research, providing briefs and develop database of documents used. Gain understanding of Child Rights by attending meetins and assisting in the development of publications.
Background
This organisation is a non-profit making and non-governmental organisation committed to the protection, promotion and enhancement of the rights of the child through court representation, advocacy and law reform. The organisation was institutionalised in 1999 by setting up a pilot and the first legal aid clinic of its kind for children and has since continued protecting and promoting the rights of the child to date.

- Child Rights Awareness
- Research, Monitoring and Documentation
- Networking, Lobbying and Advocacy

MISSION … To protect and promote the rights of the child, especially that of the girl-child.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake research on various topics particularly child trafficking and the Optional Protocol on the UNCRC under the instruction of the Research, Monitoring and Documentation Assistant Programme Officer.
- Compile and develop a database for documents that have been published and/or used by the organisation.
- Develop briefs on various topics that have been researched.
- Attend meetings and workshops organised by, for and on behalf of the organisation to gain a better understanding of Child Rights.
- Assist in the development of their publications.

Skills and Experience Required
- all legal training completed including qualification experience
