Purpose of Placement
To assist the organisation by enhancing their information technology through developing their database, alongside updating and enhancing the internal IT and website.
Background
This organisation was founded in 1989 and registered as a Society in 1990 and operates as a non-profit, non-government organization.
The founding members recognised the need for creating a forum for women lawyers for mutual support and to harness their professional capability to educate and particularly women about their legal rights, to advocate for changes or new enactment of laws and provide legal aid to women and children.
The organisation’s mission is to promote and protect women and children's rights and the improvement of their general status through Legal Literacy Legal Aid Service, Advocacy, Research and professional advancement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate development of a data base for the organisation members and prepare a database for documenting the organisation work;
- Enhance the simple database created for legal aid;
- Assist in the update of the organisation website and give advice with regard to content;
- Enhance the development of computerised financial system;
- Conduct training related to information technology and finance;
- Participate in preparing proposals;
- Assist in developing an internal policy for information technology;
- Assist in technical trouble shooting & advice on Product software, firmware updates, downloads requirements and installation;
- Offer advice on product specifications and connection requirement, wireless modules configuration, and advice on connectivity, boosters and aerial connection and further advice on different products like DVDs, CDs, MP3, MP4 formats & play back modes.
