BZ20CM - Communications and Marketing Role

The Project:
Purpose of Placement

To help the organisation increase its marketing capacity, through evaluating its fundraising processes and projects. The volunteer will also be required to provide support to the organisation in terms of funding initiatives and communications.

Background

The organisation provides assistance to children in Belize through three major programs. Their Care Program provides a home for abandoned, abused and neglected children at the Children's Home, a residential facility located near the Belize International Airport. The residential home currently houses 25 children between 1 and 11 years of age. The Education Program provides schooling for these children as well as other preschool aged children in the surrounding community. The Outreach Program provides support and assistance to families with young children.

Duties and Responsibilities
The role involves sourcing funding for the children’s home, school and or Farm project. The volunteer is expected to conduct an evaluation of the processes and projects for fundraising, marketing etc. This should be conducted alongside making recommendations for improvement.

You:

Skills and Experience Required

This will include:
  • • Experience in marketing, communications and fundraising.
  • • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • • Self motivated with the ability to work independently
  • • Professional, flexible, resourceful, adaptable, creative and culturally sensitive.
