The Project:
Purpose of Placement
To provide leadership and coordination for the organisations marketing functions, as well as, develop and implement a marketing strategy and to monitor and analyze its marketing activity against goals.
Background
This is an organisation which is dedicated to building the capacity in the non-profit and SME sectors where many organisations, while committed and active, are yet to commit to true professionalism and therefore are unable to stay sustainable and efficient in the long-run.
The organisation aims to tackle these issues by offering focused and specific training solutions to the sector, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the development options in Sri Lanka.
The organisations vision is to initiate and enable a solid global framework that facilitates the creation of a society free from poverty and social injustice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate marketing cycle and methodology of the organisation.
- Direct and oversee the organisations’ marketing function to identify and develop database and to promote the services offered by organisation.
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of methods, costs and results. Develop and manage marketing budgets.
- Facilitate local and international marketing campaigns.
- Establish and implement short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Supervise the planning and development of marketing and communications materials for the organisation. Ensure that all materials meet established standards as to appearance and content.
- Implement and assist the creation and maintenance of the organisation website and portal.
- To assist in developing marketing tools such as improving the existing printed brochures, websites, video etc.
- Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company. Promote positive relations with partners, clients and participants on the organisations’ projects.
- Serve on planning and policy-making committees.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.

You:
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have:
- A marketing qualification or degree would be an advantage but not necessary if the candidate has relevant experience.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Knowledge of structuring marketing goals and revenue expectations.
- Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Confident, motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Professional, resourceful, adaptable, creative and culturally sensitive
